Working in close ties with HRC (Honda Racing Corporation) and their development engineering team, Honda revisited the core of what makes a CBR1000RR Fireblade successful and wanted to take a fresh run at the ideology that makes supersport performance so great. The core of the new machine was to contain a new inline four-cylinder engine, using a compact, short-stroke layout - sharing the bore and stroke of the RC213V, Honda's run at a road-legal MotoGP derivative.
Featuring a semi-cam gear train, finger-follower rocker arms, titanium con-rods, RC213V-S internal friction reduction technologies, pistol jets with a check ball system and a built in-bottom bypass passage for the cylinder water jacket. All of these incredibly engineered features work flawlessly together in the engine creating a smooth synergy, aiding the lightweight design and all reducing inertial weight to keep your performance focused.
Delivering an incredible 113Nm at 12,500rpm and an amazing peak power of 160Kw at 14,500rpm, your ride remains effortlessly powerful through the rev range, allowing the torque to carry you up to the power, reaching into the high rpm to unleash dominating performance. All this performance, spoken through a voice befitting a king thanks to the end-can developed in conjunction with Akrapovic.
Beautifully engineered with a totally new aluminium diamond frame using the rear of the engine as the upper shock mount. With a longer swingarm too, based on the RC213V-S. Perfectly balanced, rigid and evenly distributed weight to optimise rider performance and steering geometry, capable of handling the increased engine output and maintaining the incredible grip and feel for both front and rear.
Beyond the words of a spec sheet, the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade carries beauty beyond belief. Sharp, flowing lines point through the body like an arrow, while the mean, aggressive face looks through the fear of competition. Choose from a beautiful Grand Prix Red paint scheme, with beautiful red, blue and white colours coating the frame, or a gorgeously threatening Matte Pearl Morion Black.
Also new to the range, another CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP model arrives with an even higher spec, adding a range of new features to the base model for riders looking to excel at an even higher level.
Exclusive to the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP model, a launch control system allows for fast, prepared race starts. Limiting engine rpm at 6,000, 7,000, 8,000 and 9,000rpm set-points, even with a wide-open throttle allowing you to focus on your clutch release. As standard, this model enjoys the benefit of a quickshifter too, for added performance and reliability to maintain your lead.
A second-generation semi-active Öhlins Electronic Control unit manages a pristine suspension unit, allowing for even more grip and control. The Öhlins NPX fork uses a pressurised damping system which minimises cavitation, resulting in added stability, improved damping control and better bump absorption - even at high speeds.
Speed that makes a motorcycle like this an unstoppable force needs to meet the braking equivalent of an immovable object - that's why the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP is matched with incredible Brembo Stylema front brake calipers, with their latest monobloc four-piston radial-mount calipers, with a Brembo brake lever and master cylinder to match. Maintaining strength and rigidity while being 7% lighter, with less internal fluid volume for a more immediate response.
